At Jeu d'enfant, we know that children learn best when they are having fun. The home-based setting and small classes provides the environment necessary for their growth. We believe that learning another language is an important tool for today's worldly children. By learning French at a young age, children increase their ability to engage in other languages and improve their musical and mathematical abilities.
 
You will feel good leaving your child with us, because you know that your child will be safe, will learn to socialize, and will learn Kindergarten pre-requisites. Schools nowadays expect children to know basic information (such as colors, shapes, letters, numbers and personal information.) At Jeu d'enfant, your child will gradually learn all of these, but will still be a child; a happy child that feels comfortable in a caring environment.

So, please come and visit a class. You will see how your child could enjoy learning French while having fun!  

Preschool classes take place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. We provide a healthy, organic snack. Your children bring their own lunch.

Here is a look at a typical morning class:   

• 9:00 A.M. Free play while we wait for our friends to arrive.

• 9:30 A.M. We introduce ourselves, review the day, look at the weather. We talk about how the weather we see may affect our world.

• 9:45: Guided discussion on the topic of the day through questions and answers, short readings, age-appropriate exercises.
• 10:00 Arts and crafts.

• 10:15 A.M. Snack (provided) and recess. We play outside, weather permitting. We have free play, and organize activities. On Mondays, we have P.E.

• 10:45 A.M. Book reading, followed by Songs and Comptines (a sort of short rhyming poem) that the children memorize and act out.

• 11:10 A.M. Free play, or organized games (for ex. bingo, or card games that teach children to express themselves in French.) On Wednesdays, we have music, and on Fridays we have computer.

• 11:30 A.M. Lunch time. Please no chips, cookies or sweets. Please inquire for birthday parties.

• 11:50 A.M. Clean up and closing time.

Winter Classes 2010
Classes start January 4, 2010. Pre-K children can start at any time during the school year. 

Winter Camps
We have one mini-camp (one day each) planned:

• Jan. 18th - Learn French cooking!                       

We will prepare a couple of dishes,play games and do arts and crafts. Please check Camps for more information and to register.
